1. Who we are
skillmdcreator.ai is operated by Alex Pearce. For data protection queries, contact us at: privacy@skillmdcreator.ai
2. What personal data we collect
- CV content — name, employment history, skills, education, and contact details contained in your uploaded CV or pasted text
- IP address — used only for rate limiting, anonymised (last octet zeroed) before any logging
- Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card details on our servers
- Consent preference — stored in a cookie on your device
3. Why we collect it
We process your CV data to provide the SKILL.md conversion service you have requested. Our lawful basis under GDPR is Article 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract. Processing is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for.
4. Who we share it with
- Anthropic — your CV text is sent to the Anthropic API for AI processing to generate your SKILL.md file. Anthropic does not train on API inputs. See anthropic.com/privacy
- Stripe — handles payment processing. Stripe receives payment data only, never your CV content. See stripe.com/privacy
- Hosting provider — our servers host all data during processing
We do not sell or share your data with any other third party.
5. How long we keep it

6. Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of data we hold about you
- Erasure — request deletion of your data
- Restriction — request we limit how we use your data
- Portability — your SKILL.md file is the portable format, already delivered to you
- Object — object to processing of your data
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
7. How to exercise your rights
Email privacy@skillmdcreator.ai or use our data deletion request page. We will respond within 30 days.
As we do not collect email addresses or link payments to identities, we can only retrieve data using your Stripe session ID if provided.
8. International transfers
Anthropic is a US company. CV data sent to their API is transferred under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent). See Anthropic's DPA at anthropic.com/legal.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Cookies
This site uses only essential cookies:
- PHPSESSID — session cookie, expires when browser closes
- skillmd_consent — your consent preference, 12-month expiry
No analytics or tracking cookies are used.
